Don Bartolo

$1,300.00MN / PERSONA ADICIONAL N/A

During the middle of the 17th century, Bartolo Sardanetta walked the streets of Querétaro’s downtown. He was given the nickname El Segoviano and was a wealthy man (in)famous for marrying his sister.

Don Bartolo lived a comfortable life as a moneylender. He owned many homes and properties, several were taken from those to whom he lent money.

Legend has it that on his birthday every year various religious leaders came to his house to celebrate. Each year he would give the same toast: “I toast to my wife, my sister, to my spirit and to May 20th, 1701.” When that day finally arrived, no one ever heard from him again. Many believe he had a pact with the devil.
